When running an analysis for an experiment using a metric that is collecting data successfully when the query runs from the metrics tab the query fails with error.
Not found: Dataset xxx:my_dataset was not found in location US
The query from on the metrics tab has the dataset specified in my datasource connection info instead of "_my_dataset"._ How can I ensure the query for my metric analysis takes the correct Dataset from my datasource connection info?

Hi Tyler, we'll add this to our support queue for tomorrow. We had an unusually high number of support requests here in Slack today and are still catching up!

Hello, has this problem been solved? The same thing happens to me when I want to establish the metrics in the experiment. Send more information - We do not have "my_dataset" in our bigquery, where we place it:
growthbook-project
.
my_dataset
.
events_*
. - In our data source it was configured for ga4:
xxxx
.
analytics_251162XXX
.
events_*
. Thanks

Hey, I'm experiencing the same problem with experiments; metrics are working fine.

I am still getting the same error on my end as well
It seems the sql queries automatically defined in Experiment Assignment Queries for data sources is incorrect. When changing to the correct queries it will not let me save the changes since there is no data yet in my data warehouse for those new columns. I am hoping that when the data is finally tracked and exported I can paste those queries back into the sql for the Experiment Assignment Queries for my data source and it will work correct. @brief-honey-45610 Does this sound correct or since there are more people experiencing this is there another separate issue with saving custom sql on Experiment Assignment Queries datasources?

Hi Tyler and Rodrigo, I'm escalating this to the Engineering team now so they can take a look.

Those are super helpful, Tyler, thank you!
I summarized the issue for our Engineering team and I'm waiting to hear back from someone. I'll keep you posted. Thank you for raising this (again)

I appreciate you looking into it!

Quick update, I am actually able to save my queries without them working yet. There was a checkbox for test query before saving that was not allowing me to save the custom queries since they had no row or unrecognized name. I am thinking that my issue is solved since those new tracking attributes are waiting to be released have yet to be tracked or exported to the data warehouse

Hi Tyler, thanks for the update! We figured out what is happening and have just added it to our worklog for the next release. I'll explain in more detail shortly. ๐Ÿ™‚

Hi again, @careful-grass-28115 and @clever-napkin-58859 and @quiet-spring-52073. This issue arose because we render default dataset names in the default Experiment Assignment Query if we donโ€™t have enough information about the dataset. The resolution we will be implementing in our next release (2.6) is to run a validation to make sure the properties have already been set by the user, so that the Experiment Assignment Query can use those instead of a default value. In the meantime, youโ€™ll need to edit the Experiment Assignment Query if this error occurs again. If it doesn't save after you've edited it, try the steps Tyler outlined above, and also make sure there are no errors in the query.

Thank @brief-honey-45610 if you help us with the query, On the other hand, another question arose, I'm not sure if it is the best place, I put it in another thread. https://growthbookusers.slack.com/archives/C01T6Q1SVFV/p1695331900467049?thread_ts=1694736007.097889&cid=C01T6Q1SVFV
