Hello everyone, we are new to Growthbook and were a little confused between starting/stopping experiments from experiment page vs features. When I stop an experiment from experiments view. It doesnt apply on our tool and I have to disable it throug feature flag. Whats the deal here. Its opposite for starting an experiment

Hi @creamy-airplane-54238, the "Stop Experiment" CTA in the top right corner when you view the experiment should work here. Can you provide more detail (and maybe a screenshot) of what you see after you fill in the Stop Experiment modal and click "Stop"? cc: @flaky-noon-11399 @brief-honey-45610

Hi @creamy-airplane-54238, correct stopping/starting from the Experiments page only affects the analysis state in GrowthBook, it does not change what’s running in your app. For context, the Experiments page is for analysis only. When you click “Stop” / “Mark as finished” there, you’re just recording that the analysis is done and adding a conclusion card; it does not change any feature flags or stop traffic in your app Whereas, the Feature controls (feature flag rules / experiment rule) are what actually control who sees what in your application. To start or stop an experiment in your live product, you need to change or remove the experiment rule on the feature (or disable the feature / rule) in the Features UI. Given the above, to actually start or stop traffic, you need to update the feature’s rules (e.g. enable/disable the experiment rule or change the feature value) in the Features UI, since that’s what the SDKs use to control behavior in your product.
