👋 Hello, team! Has there been a change that now requires the Growthbook SDK to be setup before starting an experiment? We've been using our own home rolled integration (due to us migrating from another platform) where we don't really need the SDK, and we've always been able to start experiments anyway. A week ago there was no problem.

Hey, Henrik - yes, that change was introduced. I understand your use case, though. I'll sync with the team and discuss.

Thanks for the quick reply! I managed to get around the issue by just installing the SDK in my local dev environment. I understand why you want to make sure that the SDK is setup, but maybe there could be a setting that allows a user to override this requirement?

Awesome - I'm glad to hear you're not blocked. I can definitely see a use case for overriding this - especially if you're only using GrowthBook to analyze experiments, but not for the bucketing of users into experiments. I've raised this with a few others on the team to come up with a solution for this. Thank you for letting us know!

Hey, Henrik - just wanted to let you know, we've updated this logic so you can start an experiment, even if you don't have a connected SDK. Instead, it just displays a warning. Thanks again for raising this issue!

Perfect. Thanks for the fast handling of this!
