Hello Growthbook team, I've setup growthbook with mixpanel. I'm trying to test a simple A/B experiment, the metrics are getting tracked correctly, the experiment event is also getting logged on the mixpanel dashboard, unfortunately there are no experiment results getting displayed as seen here, what could be my problem? (I've decreased the sample size to make sure that the results will get displayed after 3 conversions)
f
Hi Amr, are you still having problems with this?
w
@fresh-football-47124 Yes I'd be really thankful if you could help me with this
f
okay, one moment

Some things to check 1. In data source settings, make sure the event/property names exactly match what you are tracking in Mixpanel 2. Same on the metric settings, make sure the event name and any conditions you have exactly match Mixpanel. 3. Check your metric conversion window settings. Try setting the conversion delay to -1 and the window to 999 hours to rule out any issues there. 4. On the experiment analysis settings, make sure the experiment id exactly matches that event property value in Mixpanel 5. Try expanding the date range for the experiment phase by a day to catch any potential timezone issues If none of those help, you can view the raw JQL query we're running in GrowthBook, copy that over to Mixpanel, and start deleting conditions and filters until data shows up. That will help you figure out where there's a problem.

@future-teacher-7046 I've checked all the steps and went on with copying the JQL query to mixpanel, it displayed the rows on the first run without me deleting any conditions or filters
f
Can you share the rows that were returned?
w
f
Hmm. And if you update results in GrowthBook, you still aren't seeing anything there?
w
Yes, no data yet
f
Do you have multiple mixpanel projects by any chance? Is the projectId in GrowthBook the same one you're running JQL on in Mixpanel?
w
No this is the only mixpanel project, where can I check the projectId in both growthbook and mixpanel?
f
In GrowthBook, if you go to the data source and edit connection settings, you should see it there
In Mixpanel, if you click the Gear icon and go to Project Settings, you should see the id
w
Couldn't find edit connection settings in the data source
f
Are you self-hosting and using config.yml to configure data sources?
w
Nope
The project id is the same as mixpanel I checked now, didn't have permissions
The secret field is empty in the edit data source form and says (Keep existing), when I add either the mixpanel API secret or project API key it says "Unable to authenticate request"
@future-teacher-7046 @fresh-football-47124 any updates on this thread?
I've solved it, I created a new service account in mixpanel and connected it to growthbook now my experiment results are displayed correctly, thank you for your support ❤️
f
good to hear
